Miscellaneous

Here are a few family and church activities lately...

Our family had a picnic at the beach on Sentosa one evening.

Big storm coming in!  We left the beach right after this picture was taken...

...and this is what it looked like just down the road ten minutes later.

My husband gave three speeches for a Reformation Day Conference in Brisbane, Australia, in early November, and spent the weekend with Rev. David & Ruth Torlach.

Some of the ladies from church got together for lunch to celebrate a birthday.

Our kids have finished their piano lessons in Singapore.

The kids enjoy time with their friends on Sundays.  My husband also loves to be with the little ones!

Sunday School starts young in CERC.  Well before they are a year old, babies are brought to class for singing.  They learn very quickly how to point to the songs they want in a big book, and as soon as they can talk they learn how to say "1, 2, 3" for the class to start singing!  By the time they are 2-3 years old they stay for the lesson and craft as well.  They are part of this class until they are ready to start catechism.

And the newest baby of CERC was just born yesterday!  Paul & Anthea Liu welcomed little Micah a couple of weeks early.

We pray for God's richest blessing on the little lambs of CERC, as well as their parents and Sunday School teachers and all who help to train up these children in the way they should go (Prov. 22:6)!

First Farewells

As our time in Singapore comes to an end, we have had several gatherings with individuals, couples, or whole Bible study groups who want to say their goodbyes to us.  More of these gatherings are planned in the next few weeks.

The Wednesday ladies' Bible study group who meets at our place had a farewell lunch for me two weeks ago.  After our Bible study, Jean gave an exhortation on Ecclesiastes 3 and we sang a Psalter number together, and then we had lunch.  Excuse my tears on these pictures--I will miss this group of ladies!

A few days later the Shalom Bible Study group had a farewell dinner for us.

Elder Leong gave an exhortation, and a few other people talked as well.

Rev. Emmanuel & Sonali Singh

As you saw in my last post, Rev. Emmanuel & Sonali Singh were just in Singapore for their annual visit from our mission work in Kolkata.  CERC has made it a practice to invite them to Singapore at the time of the Reformation Day Conference each year.  This year they were not only able to attend that, but Rev. Singh was able to be present at the annual church visitation.  And they were able to fellowship with the saints in Singapore once again.

Please keep the Singhs in your prayers as they return to the work in Kolkata.  May God continue to use them powerfully to gather His church in that area of India!

Church Visitors

This past week CERC welcomed the annual church visitors to Singapore.  This year the PRC sent Rev. Smit and Dave Kregel.

While they were here they had some time for fellowship with our family and many other members of the congregation.

Rev. Emmanuel & Sonali Singh are in Singapore also.

Rev. Smit was also able to give three speeches for our annual Reformation Day Conference, held this past Saturday.

Elder Lim chaired the conference and promoted a few books for sale.

And the main purpose of their visit:  church visitation.

The Session and church visitors always have dinner together before the meeting.

The men at the meeting (missing one elder)

We thank the PRC for sending this annual delegation and very much enjoyed our time with them!
