Visitors and More

We have had a few more visitors in church lately.  In April we welcomed the Trinidad family from the Philippines.  Pastor Trinidad is the minister of the Maranatha Protestant Reformed Church there, and he was not able to be here over Sunday.  His son's family lives in Singapore.  Here we are with the rest of his family:

This past Sunday Rev. & Margaret Laning and John & Val VanBaren were in church, stopping in Singapore on their way home from Myanmar.  My husband and I spent an hour with them on Monday.

We had another infant baptism at the beginning of April.

The youth had an outing in April, playing Captain's Ball and frisbee at Bishan Park.

We are back into the hot season here, so our family spent an afternoon at the beach last week.

We had another public holiday last Wednesday and spent a few hours with Curtis & Esther and Kong Wee & Dorcas.

Sports Day

May 1 was a public holiday, so our church had its annual sports day.  This year it was held at beautiful Labrador Park, on the coast.

When everyone had arrived, we were split into groups for a scavenger hunt through the park.

There was a lot of World War II history in the park.

The evening concluded with devotions, singing, and dinner.

Visitors from Northern Ireland

At last year's British Reformed Fellowship Conference in Northern Ireland, we met Dr. Julian & Mariana Kennedy.  Also at that conference were a few people from our church in Singapore and one woman from the Berean PRC in the Philippines.  A few members of our church had also gone to the previous BRF Conference.  The Kennedys decided to spend their vacation time this year visiting those saints in the Philippines and Singapore.

After some time in the Philippines, they spent about ten days in Singapore, staying at the home of Robert & Grace from CERC.  We visited with them there one evening, and with the others who had attended the BRF conferences.

There were other times of fellowship with the people from church as well.

Mariana was also able to attend a women's Bible study that meets at my place.  Since several of the women arrived early, she taught a few of them how to play Upwords first!

What a beautiful expression of the communion of saints that the Kennedys were able to travel to Southeast Asia to visit those whom they had met at the BRF Conferences.  May God bless those conferences as not only is His Word taught, but these friendships in the Lord are formed; and may He bless His church throughout the world!

Visit from the Drneks (2)

Besides seeing the tourist spots of Singapore, the Drnek family got to experience some of our day-to-day life and our neighborhood.

Here are also a couple of pictures Jon and Michelle took from the Singapore Flyer:

The cousins all had so much fun together.

Seth and Jason were especially excited about meeting this

The kids played a lot of games together!

The Drneks also very much enjoyed meeting more of the members of CERC.

We enjoyed an evening at a beautiful park on the coast with a couple of families from church.

There were five or six hornbills right around us throughout the evening!

We are so thankful Jon & Michelle and their family were able to come to Singapore and see our way of life here and meet many of the saints in the church.
