Homeschoolers' Outing

In the absence of a good Christian school, a number of families in CERC have begun homeschooling in the past few years.  Of these, several have graduated their youngest child.  Right now there are a few high-schoolers and fourteen children, including ours, in the 1-13 age range.  Most of the current homeschoolers got together last Friday at Gardens by the Bay, at a new children's play area there.  It has to be the most beautiful playground I have ever seen!

The kids spent time in both the "dry play" areas and the water play area.

Here are a couple pictures to show the beautiful backdrop of the water play area:

Marina Bay Sands is the building with the ship across the top;
next to it in the picture is one of the domes of Gardens by the Bay.

and the top of a building downtown

We ate supper together after the kids had played for a couple of hours.

Ham buns and sushi--a pretty good mix of cuisines, right? :-)
(along with a Japanese potato salad, egg tarts, chicken-filled pastries, and chicken)

Dinner devotions were based on Psalm 8:1-2, which were very fitting verses both in the beauty of the scenery around us, and in the beauty of the covenant children with us.  "O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.  Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger."

  1. What a fun outing at such a beautiful place! Thanks for your continued posts ~ we enjoy reading them! May God continue to bless and prosper your family there in Singapore midst the work that He has called you to do. Wishing you a blessed furlough this summer!
